The Institute

For over three decades the Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics has
been dedicated to presenting the leading theories and technological
advancements in skin care.
The school upholds the belief that a pioneering spirit is essential
to learning. With product knowledge, cosmetic chemistry and technology
continually improving, it is imperative that the esthetician keep abreast
of the most current information as well as future trends.
The Institute is firmly committed to these goals.
What is Esthetics

Esthetics is the study of the skin and the body whereby health
and beauty is ideally preserved for an individual, using techniques, tools,
and products.
A person who is devoted and professionally trained in this field is called
an Esthetician.
History of the Institute
The Catherine Hinds Institute was founded in 1979, six months after the estheticians bill was signed into law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. From inception, the goal of the Institute has been to be foremost in the field of esthetic training.
In January, 1983, the school was granted the first accreditation of any esthetic school in the United States, a feat that stood unchallenged for five years.
Today the Institute is accredited by the Accrediting
Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology and offers
premiere training in all areas of esthetic education.
Accreditation
Accreditation is a student's best assurance that a school meets national
standards of quality, performance and educational excellence. In February
2003 the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology
(ACCSCT) renewed the accreditation of the Catherine Hinds Institute of
Esthetics for an additional five (5) year term. The ACCSCT is recognized
by the U.S. Department of Education as a national accrediting agency for
private, postsecondary institutions that offer occupational vocational
programs.
